Purple Head, Rainbow World

(Crop top: Forever 21/ skirt: vintage from Shop Vintage Minnie on Etsy.com/ shoes: Target/ floral hair clip and earrings: Claire's/ choker: Wet Seal)

This past Saturday I went to Wynwood with my best friend (who so kindly took all these pictures) after taking advantage of the Perez Art Museum in downtown Miami being free for the day. I was really excited to see new wall murals and art after missing out on Art Basel the weekend before, although I still more to explore and see. Admittedly I still gravitated to the same galleries and walls that I always do, the ones with the whole rainbow of colors. The two walls in these pictures are two of my favorites, and really complimented my very vibrant, very purple outfit.

This wrap skirt is truly a beauty, and I'm so glad I snatched it up on Black Friday. It is the first psychedelic vintage print that I own, and probably will not be the last. I really love how it compliments my purple hair and how tropical it feels. I paired it with a plain white crop top that also had that wrapped feel to it and seems to me my go to for colorful and bright skirts. I then added my pink floral hair clip and pink shoes and some very bright earrings. This is definitely an outfit that will be repeated very soon.

One of Many Projects and Papers

(Shirt and skirt: Forever 21/ earrings: Claire's)

Due to a sea of projects, papers, responsibilities, and attempting to have a life, I haven't posted in a while. Now that I have a moment's reprieve before all my Wednesday deadlines, I wanted to share the funnest (but also most frustrating and time consuming) end of the semester project I've worked on.

If you can't tell, the giant head is supposed to be a self-portrait. It is made of lots of cardboard, four cans of purple spray paint, one not so very good book, and a few small second degree glue gun burns. It probably looks more like a Noh mask or an Asian woman than me, but at least I got the bottom half of my face to stop looking like Yoda's, so I'm kind of proud.

Naturally I had to take a whole bunch of goofy pictures with my head before turning it in last week, and here they are. All that I ask is that you please enjoy them without judging my art skills to harshly.

P.S. The sacrificial book was a fan fiction sequel to Pride and Prejudice, not the original. I wouldn't do something like that to Jane Austen, I swear.

Purple Hair Don't Care

After over a month of bleaching and toning my hair, I have now finally dyed it purple and I LOVE IT!! I used Pravana's Chromasilk Vivids in Violet and mixed it with conditioner. I pictured it turning out a little bit lighter honestly with all the conditioner I put in it, but I actually like how it turned out. I have really missed having my dark hair and now with this shade of purple, I won't have to anymore. The color is so vibrant and as the name suggests, vivid, which is perfect for me because I love colors that are simultaneously dark and bright. I also love how dramatic red looks on me now with my purple hair and how easy it will be to wear my two favorite colors now: one in my hair and the other on my lips. My new hair was definitely worth all the trouble and bleach that went into it, and I'm very excited to show it off at school this week!
